But I don't fully understand your opinion on other people learning your style;
Copying directly off your pictures, sure, that's not right, but imitating your style?

Heck, in fact, I wouldn't even have gotten into drawing and animating if I didn't realize I could imitate one of my favourite artist's styles.
Originally with the intention to draw fanart and fan-animations referencing his own works - heck, my first flashanimation was a thirteen minute long tribute movie for that guy and his fandom - now it's simply a huge part of my style I can't get rid off and wouldn't want to.

I'd say, imitation - as long as it isn't actual theft - is some form of apprechiation;
